Man due in court in connection with Dublin fire

A 29-year-old man is due in court this morning, in relation to a suspected arson attack in Dublin at the weekend.

One woman was injured in the incident, which happened on Sunday night.

At about 10.20pm on Sunday night, a man entered a house on the South Circular road in Dublin, where it is understood he used a flammable liquid to start a fire.

Gardaí were called to the scene and used a ladder to help the occupants escape from the burning building.

Dublin Fire Brigade also attended the scene and extinguished the fire, however a 24-year-old woman received minor injuries and needed treatment at St James's hospital as a result.

Investigating Gardaí arrested a 29-year-old man yesterday in connection with the blaze and he is due to appear in court this morning.
