Tara Mines workers and bosses to start LRC talks

Workers at Tara Mines in Navan are to enter into talks with management at the Labour Relations Commission.

SIPTU has agreed to the move this afternoon, following an initial meeting at the LRC.

The talks are expected to take place over five days this month, with the company agreeing to hold off on taking any further action until then.

It follows a management decision to place workers at Tara Mines on protective notice last Thursday, a move the union's described as totally unacceptable.
