Luan Gallery to consider position on H Block-messages exhibition
Athlone's Luan Gallery is to consider objections to a controversial installation it is currently exhibiting.
Earlier almost 100 people gathered at Athlone's town council meeting to hear proposals to remove the piece.
The Head of Collections at the Irish Museum of Modern Art says the removal of the work would amount to censorship.
The installation by Longford's Shane Cullen, part of IMMA's own collection, is based on Republican prisoner messages smuggled out of the H Block prison in 1981.
IMMA's Head of Collections Christina Kennedy is hitting out at the attempt to remove the art-piece.
