Motorcyclist killed in M2 collision

A motorcyclist has died following a collision this evening on the M2 motorway at Ashbourne, Gardaí have confirmed.

The collision between the motorcyclist and a vehicle occurred at approximately 7.30pm on the M2 northbound between the St Margarets and the Ashbourne/Ratoath exits, gardaí said.

The motorcyclist was fatally injured in the collision. No one else was injured.

The motorway is closed in both directions for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
