Man held after fatal shooting of Christopher Warren in Dublin

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Dublin last night.

A 35-year-old man was dropped off at St James' Hospital with gunshot wounds at around 7pm yesterday evening. He died shortly afterwards from his injuries.

The victim Christopher Warren, who is from St Teresa’s Gardens in the south inner city. has a number of previous convictions for robberies and burglary.

His brother Paul was shot dead in 2004 aged 23 in a pub in Newmarket Square near the Liberties in revenge for the murder of Joseph Rattigan, brother of crime gang leader Brian Rattigan.

Gardaí say it is not known where Christopher Warren was shot. The car used to take him to hospital was found on Cork Street. It was not burned out and will be forensically examined.

A man in his late 20s was arrested this morning in connection with the incident. He is being detained at Kevin Street garda station.
