Man remanded in custody following Galway collision

A 31-year-old man has been remanded in custody following a weekend crash in Co Galway in which a pedestrian was seriously injured.

Marius Strelciunas, with an address at 132 Manor Court in Knocknacarra, appeared before a special sitting of Galway District Court this afternoon.

He is charged with one count of dangerous driving.

His arrest followed a collision on the Barna Road in the Knocknacarra area at 1.40am yesterday morning during which a 21 year old man was struck by a car while walking.

Strelciunas has been remanded in custody with consent to bail to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
