Man in court in connection with Longford drug seizure

A man has appeared before Dublin District Court charged in connection a drugs seizure in Longford last week.

Thirty-three year old Chang Hui Wang, from Foxboro in Lucan, was arrested in Mullingar, Co Westmeath last Wednesday after gardaí found €1.4m worth of cannabis.

The seizure was part of a total drugs haul valued at €4.6m, discovered in different places across the country.

Hui Wang, who has been described by gardaí as a "significant figure" in cannabis grow houses, was remanded in custody and is due before Cloverhill District Court on January 27.
