IBRC is disposed to accept an offer by Sean Quinn Jnr to sell his exclusive Dublin apartment, in order to purge his contempt of court.

The High Court has heard the son of the jailed former billionaire is also to travel to Moscow to sort out issues relating to a bank account in Russia.

Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne has described the step as positive, and has put the case back until January 25 so both sides can sort out practical arrangements.

His luxury home in Castleknock is valued at €800,000.

The apartment is owned by him and his wife Karen Woods – the idea is he will hand his share of the sale into court in order to purge his contempt for facilitating a half a million dollars payment to a former director of Quinn Properties Ukraine.

The move was in breach of court orders stopping the Quinns moving assets beyond IBRC's reach
