Rain leads to more flooding in Cork

Overnight rain has led to flooding in parts, with Cork and Waterford particularly badly affected.

In Cork, floodwater is blocking traffic on the Wilton Road from the Sarsfield Road roundabout towards Wilton, and also on Crosshaven Road at the Kilnagleary Bus Park.

In Mallow, there is flooding on the Killarney Road at the Racecourse.

Meanwhile the AA says the Ballea Road from Carrigaline to Ballygarvan is impassable at the waterworks.

Waterford has also been hit, with flooding in Dungarvan at Garrenbane School, and motorists are being advised to avoid the area if possible.
