Hogan announces pyrite resolution board
The Minister for the Environment has annouced the establishment of a pyrite resolution board to help homeowners whose dwellings are affected.
Phil Hogan has also approved a levy on quarrying and stone products that will pay for claims made by homeowners whose houses have been damaged by pyrite.
Under the scheme banks will provide up to €50 million in loans to a fund - set up to help people repair their homes.
The move has been welcomed by the Construction Industry Federation, who said the purchasers of properties affected by pryrite should not be held responsible for their repair.
