A teenager has been charged in connection with a row outside a Cork pub last December in which a man died.

Father-of-two Gerard Delaney was fatally injured outside the Manhattan Bar in Lower Friar's Walk last St Stephen's Night.

Nineteen-year-old Kief Varian from Sycamore Place, Togher was brought before Cork District Court today and charged with assault causing harm to 51-year-old Gerard Delaney.

He was also charged with producing a timber bat, and also with affray.

He was remanded on bail to appear again in court on January 21 next.
