Varadkar warns Keaveney Budget 'isn't an a la carte menu'

The Minister for Transport says the Budget isn't an a la carte menu.

Leo Varadkar was responding to comments by the Labour Party Chairman Colm Keaveney who says he will have to look at the whole package of budgetary measures before deciding how he will vote on them.

Deputy Keaveney voted with the Government on the initial budget measures in the Dáil last night.

Minister Varadkar says the budget should not be unravelled by TDs looking to make a name for their party or their reputation but it is up to Deputy Keaveney to decide how he votes.

“That’s really a matter for Colm Keaveney but it is to be treated as a package. It is not an a la carte menu, it’s a set menu.

“It all adds up together and every change is attached to another change so it can’t unravel.”
