Dublin City Council to review HGV ban

Dublin City Council is looking for the public's input on whether to extend the current ban on certain trucks in the city centre.

At the moment, lorries with more than five axles are not permitted to use the city centre between 7am and 7pm.

The proposed changes would see the cordon extended from either 6am or 7 am to midnight, and Dublin City Council wants submissions before Friday at 5.30pm.

More than 4,000 HGVs per day have been prevented from accessing the city's streets since the ban came into Force in February 2007.
