Man held in Kildare house raid

Detectives investigating organised crime have arrested a man during a planned house raid.

A handgun and ammunition was recovered during the search at Allenwood, Co Kildare.

A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene yesterday.

He is being questioned at Naas garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Investigating officers said the arrest was made as part of an investigation into organised criminal activity.
