Woman dies following Swinford crash

A woman in her 50s who was seriously injured in a road crash in Mayo last night has died in hospital.

The woman was involved in a collision with another car at 9.20pm on the Foxford to Ballina Rd at a place known as Armstrongs Corner around three miles outside Foxford.

The second driver's injuries are described as not life threatening.

The road remains closed and local diversions are in place.
