Justice and Equality Minister Alan Shatter has welcomed an announcement that a government-supported programme has helped hundreds of immigrants here to get jobs.

Justice and Equality Minister Alan Shatter has welcomed an announcement that a government-supported programme has helped hundreds of immigrants here to get jobs.

Alan Shatter said the url=http://www.integration.ie/website/omi/omiwebv6.nsf/page/funding-fundforintegration-esfEPIC-en]EPIC Programme[/url] had placed 222 immigrants in employment in the last 22 months.

The EPIC Programme is run by Business in the Community Ireland, which brings government, business, state agencies and NGOs together to help immigrants find work.

The programme is financed with assistance from the European Social Fund.

Minister Shatter was officiating at a celebration ceremony for graduates in Dublin this morning.
