Thousands set off on Dublin City Marathon

More than 15,000 runners will take part in the Dublin City Marathon later this morning.
The 26.2-mile race began at Fitzwilliam Square East at 9am and finishes at Merrion Square North between midday and 5pm.
Many roads have been closed off to facilitate the event
"The route will see participants travel throught the city centre, both north and south, through the Phoenix Park and along the N11 Stillorgan Road and Merrion Road,
"Extensive road closures are in place and will be in place throughout the city until this evening, particularly in the Merrion Square area and in the Phoenix Park."
