Man killed in Fermanagh housefire

A man has died in a house fire in Co Fermanagh.

The blaze at the Clones Road in Newtownbutler was reported to police shortly before 7am.

The property was still alight almost three hours later as firefighters continued to battle the flames.

The cause has yet to be identified and police have begun an investigation.

Kevin O'Neill from the Northern Ireland fire service said crews were still at the scene.

"The fire is largely out. We are trying out dampening down operations. We expect to hand over to the police for a forensic examination of the scene," he said.
