Gardaí launch murder inquiry in Cavan

Gardaí in Cavan have launched a murder investigation after the death of a man overnight.

It is understood the man was fatally stabbed in an apartment at Connolly Court, Connolly Street, Cavan town at around 11pm last night.

The body remains at scene which has been preserved for the State Pathologist and the Garda forensics team.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in or around Connolly Court apartments last night between 10pm and 12 midnight.
