A man is due before court in the morning, charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Ballyfermot, Dublin last Friday.

The man in his 30s was arrested after the killing of 35-year-old Father of two John Wilson on Cloverhill Road in Ballyfermot last Friday afternoon. Gardaí believe he was attacked by two men.

John Wilson was known to gardaí and had a number of previous convictions.

Investigators found a brown Volkswagon Passat burnt out in Cherry Orchard Crescent a short time after the shooting.

The car was stolen from Celbridge in the days leading up to the killing.

John Wilson was one of three gangland figures to be killed in the city last week.
