Gardaí investigate cyclist's death in Dublin

Gardaí have opened an investigation into the death of a cyclist in South Dublin.

The 54-year-old man was found in a collapsed but conscious state on the Barnhill Rd in Dalkey on September 28, shortly before 9pm.

He died in hospital on October 1.

The dead man, who gardaí are not naming, is described as 5'9 - 5'10 in height, of thin build, with short brown and grey hair.

He was clean shaven and was wearing grey bottoms, a dark woolly jumper, a blue jacket and navy converse runners.

Gardaí at Dun Laoghaire want to speak to anyone who saw him cycling on Barnhill Road that night and they are particularly interested in finding out if anyone saw him come off his bike.
