Government 'on track' to meet tax targets
The government says it is on track to meet its end of year tax targets.
The latest exchequer figures out this evening show revenues are running €385m ahead of expectations.
However, the government is also spending more than anticipated, with serious overruns in social welfare and health.
The Department of Finance says it still expects both departments to meet their budget targets before the end of the year, although Ronnie Downes from the Department of Finance admits the overruns are sizable.
