Man arrested in connection with dissident republican activity

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Tallaght in Dublin by gardaí investigating the activities of dissident republicans.

The man was arrested at 1pm this afternoon and is being detained at Ashbourne garda station.

During the search of the house the component parts of a handgun were recovered.
