Ireland signs new adoptions agreement with Vietnam

A new adoption agreement with Vietnam has been signed.

A new adoption agreement with Vietnam has been signed.

It means the resumption of adoptions with the country after they were suspended three years ago.

It comes after the Republic of Vietnam signed up to the Hague Convention earlier this year.

Children's Minister Frances Fitzgerald said it will mean the resumption of adoptions "almost immediately".
