Man attacked in Sligo dies in hospital

A man in his 60s has died in hospital tonight after he was assaulted during a robbery at his home in Sligo.

The incident happened sometime between 9pm on Wednesday and 9pm on Friday on Old Market Street in Sligo town.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious around the Old Market Street area to contact them at Sligo Garda Station.
