Employers at the Career Zoo in Dublin today are encouraging Irish people with third-level qualifications to undergo conversion courses if there are not enough opportunities in their sector.

More than 4,000 job vacancies will be showcased at the National Convention Centre in Dublin today.

Irish and international companies will be hoping to attract top talent for their workforce.

Career Zoo director Brian O'hOisin said that people with third-level degrees should consider converting their qualifications.

"The people who are completing these conversion course, 85% of them are ending up in full-time employment," he said.

"Typically, a conversion course is 5-6 months long, it's an intensive course, so it is a full-time course, this isn't something you can do part-time.

"But there is, - not guaranteed employment - but extremely likely employment with a real top employer at the end of it."
