Rental car company Sixt is creating 23 jobs in Dublin.

The German company is opening a new franchise, in partnership with the Dun-Laoghaire-based County Car Rentals.

The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore is to make an official announcement later.

Eleven of the jobs have already been filled in Dun Laoghaire, 12 more people have yet to be recruited to work in reservations, customer service and administration as well as rental, over the next eight months.

Bernard Loughran, managing sirector, Sixt rent a car Ireland commented: “County Car Rentals is delighted to partner with Sixt rent a car in Ireland as part of our strategy to expand and grow our business.

“This partnership gives us an opportunity to attract new tourism and corporate business from strong economic regions including Germany and Austria.“
