Man in custody over Carlow shooting

A man remains in garda custody this morning, in connection with a shooting incident in Co Carlow yesterday.
A 25-year-old man was shot a number of times in the knee and stomach when he answered a knock to his front door on Burrin Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Yesterday evening, investigating officers arrested a man in his early 40s, in connection with the incident during a search of a house in Carlow Town.
He is being detained at Carlow Garda Station, under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
