Search for 'Disappeared' victim resumes in Monaghan

A fifth search for one of the so-called 'Disappeared' has resumed near Bragan Bog in Co Monaghan today.

The Independent Commission for the Location of Victims Remains has confirmed a 10-12 week search for the body of Columba McVeigh is now underway at the site near Emyvale.

The 19-year-old from Co Tyrone was abducted and murdered by the IRA in 1975.

A previous dig at Bragan Bog got underway last April following new information received by the Commission.

However, it ended without success in May.

So far, the Commission has found the bodies of nine of the 16 so-called 'Disappeared'.
