Alan Ryan murder: Gardaí arrest man

Gardaí investigating the murder of Alan Ryan in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with the investigation.

Ryan - known by detectives for his links with the Real IRA - died in Beaumont Hospital after he was shot on Grange Lodge Avenue in Clongriffin on Monday afternoon.

It emerged this evening that gardaí arrested a man in his late 40s last night. He is currently detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.

Gardaí have not disclosed which garda station is holding him.
