Search underway for missing diver off south coast

A search is underway this evening for a diver missing off the south coast.

It is understood the man was taking part in a dive with three other men, about 12 miles south of Baltimore in Co. Cork, when he failed to return at around 6pm this evening.

The alarm was raised and a major search operation was launched.

It is being co-ordinated by Valentia Coastguard, with the assistance of the Shannon based helicopter, the Irish Navel vessel the LE Ciara and the Courtmacsharry and Baltimore lifeboats.
