A 66-year old man from Limerick has died after contracting legionnaires disease while on holiday in the US.

A 66-year old man from Limerick has died after contracting legionnaires disease while on holiday in the US.

Tom Keane caught the disease when he went for a meal with his wife in a hotel in Chicago in July.

The retired plumber with Limerick City Council died from the fatal disease on Wednesday.

Removal mass for Mr Keane will take place in Jamesboro this evening.
