Minister: Treatment of Target staff is unacceptable
The Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte says the treatment of the former Target Express staff is not acceptable.
Workers at the haulage firm, which ceased trading on Monday, are staging sit-ins at depots, demanding unpaid wages.
The 390 staff are being briefed today by the provisional liquidator appointed to the company overnight by the High Court.
Rabbitte says the government will help the former Target Express employees in any way that it can.
"It's no way to treat workers. The fact they were kept in the dark, is simply not acceptable.
"The workers are entitled to receive the monies owed to them. I hope the liquidator, in his interaction with them today, can sort out that."
