Man charged with false imprisonment of teenager

A man has appeared before a special court sitting in Limerick, charged with the false imprisonment of a teenger.

Zachery Coughlan Ryan, of no fixed abode, was refused bail at Limerick District Court after numerous objections from gardaí.

He was charged with false imprisonment arising out of a botched 'tiger' kidnapping between August 19 and August 20.

Det Gda Vincent Brick of Henry Street garda station said that the accused made no reply when charged with false imprisonment of 19-year-old Stephen Cusack.

The accused was remanded in custody to appear in court again on September 5.
