Friends and family mourn three brothers killed in car accident

Hundreds of mourners have packed into the Sacred Heart Church in Killinarden, Tallaght to say farewell to three young brothers who were killed in a car crash in Offaly last Friday.

Darren, David and Ryan Doyle will be cremated at Newlands Cross crematorium following the midday Mass.

The three brothers aged 27, 24 and 17 are originally from Tallaght, Dublin but had been living for the past 18 months in Na Cluainte in Portarlington.

They were tragically killed following an accident outside Tullamore on Friday evening which also involved a minibus.

Before the crash they had been watching John Joe Nevin's Olympic fight.

A funeral for the driver of the car, 24-year-old Lee Bryan, will take place in Portarlington tomorrow.

In his homily, Fr Manus Ferry has acknowledged the grief and pain of those who have congregated to pay their respects to the three brothers.

"I would not say to you gathered here, that everything is fine, that everything is all right," he said.

"Because as we look around, as we look here today, we know that it is not all right. You hurt, we all hurt."
