Mullingar to change local currency to honour Nevin win

Mullingar will redesign its own currency to honour local man John Joe Nevin's success at the Olympics.

The "Gar", which is the official tourist currency of the town, is to feature Nevin's head.

More than 25,000 notes will be circulated among tourists and visitors, which they can use to get discounts in the town.
