Gardaí hold teenager overnight in connection with Tuam assault

A teenager has been held overnight by gardaí investigating a serious assault in Tuam, County Galway early yesterday.

A teenager has been held overnight by gardaí investigating a serious assault in Tuam, County Galway early yesterday.

A 22-year-old man remains in a serious condition in hospital after a rock was thrown at him and he was attacked by a gang of men on Milltown Road at 3.20am on Sunday morning.

He suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being questioned at Tuam Garda Station.
