MEP Sean Kelly: I was not at Quinn rally
MEP Sean Kelly has rejected reports that he attended a rally in support of Sean Quinn and his family in Cavan last Sunday.
He says suggestions in today's Evening Echo and by media outlets during the week that he was at the rally are false.
Several thousand people took part in the demonstration in Ballyconnell last weekend to show their support for the bankrupt billionaire and his family.
But Kerry MEP Sean Kelly has said he was not among them.
"I was actually in Thurles last Sunday with my wife, Juliette. I knew nothing about the rally until Monday morning when I saw it in the papers and I got some phonecalls about it," he said.
"I had no involvement whatsoever with the rally in Cavan last weekend."
