Hogan confirms plans to cut council numbers

Enivronment Minister Phil Hogan has confirmed his intention to cut the number of local councils and county councillors under local government reforms.

Speaking at the MacGill Summer School in Donegal this evening, the Minister was greeted by around 100 protestors who are refusing to pay the household charge.
