Families' holiday plans ruined after collapse of Selfcatering.ie
A Co Galway woman has said she is outraged at her family's treatment after their holiday plans were foiled by the collapse of SelfCatering.ie.
The booking website, which sold self-catering holidays in Ireland, Britain, Europe and the US, went bust on Thursday.
The Wexford-based company contacted customers saying it had ceased trading with immediate effect.
Rebecca Egan from Ballygar in Galway paid €750 for a trip to Lahinch, Co Clare. She paid partly by credit card and partly by cheque.
The mother of two told Galway Bay FM news today: "They have said there is no possible way we can get our money back.
"The company that owns the houses haven't been paid by Selfcatering.ie since June so while the house is available for us to go on holidays in August, no money has been paid for it...If we want to go on holidays in three weeks' time, we're going to have to pay more money.
