Better weather expected over weekend

After a soggy summer so far, we're in for some better weather this weekend.

It was a wet and windy June, with three times the average rain for the month falling and severe flooding in places like Cork.

But temperatures will top 20 degrees over the coming days and Evelyn Cusack from Met Éireann says: "The weather is settling down a little bit. I'm not promising a heatwave or anything but it is getting better.

"Temperatures will be up to about 20 or 21, a lot better than the 40 degrees plus heatwave being suffered down in southern parts of continental Europe
