Mauritius paper editor arrested over Michaela photos

The editor of the Sunday Times in Mauritius has been arrested.

Imran Hosany was arrested by police at 6am local time.

He is under investigation after the newspaper published photographs of Micheala McAreavey's dead body on Sunday.

There has been widespread condemnation of the move both in Ireland and Mauritius.

Authorities in Mauritius said they expect the source of the leak to the Sunday Times to be confirmed within days.

The Prime Minister of Mauritius said this morning that he knows who leaked the photographs of Michaela's body to a newspaper.

Navin Ramglooam said the source of the pictures did not come from within the police force itself, but from someone else close to the case.
