Motor industry welcomes proposals on more frequent car testing

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) has welcomed new proposals to increase the frequency of NCT checks.

Owners of cars more than six years old may have to put their vehicles through the NCT every year if plans from the European Commission announced yesterday get the go-ahead.
