Biker dies in Sligo accident

A man in his 20s has died following a motorbike accident in Ballygawley, Co. Sligo last night.

The crash happened at around 8.20pm when the motorbike he was driving hit a ditch at Doonmarray, on the R290 Ballygawley to Ballintogher road.

The 26-year-old was taken to Sligo General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The road is closed from Castle Dargan to Kilross National School this morning, pending a garda forensic examination.
