Minister Reilly to make debt statement to Dáil tomorrow
The Health Minister is to make a Dáil statement tomorrow after he was named as a debt defaulter in Stubbs Gazette.
Meanwhile, Labour has expressed confidence in James Reilly despite not having heard his version of the story.
Doctor Reilly and four business partners had a €1.9m judgement registered against them relating to investment in a nursing home in Tipperary.
The Taoiseach defended Minister Reilly, saying the money would be paid. Mr Kenny insisted the Minister is in compliance with standards in public office rules.
A Government spokesman said Minister Reilly would make a Dáil statement on the issue tomorrow.
A spokesperson for Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore said she was unaware of any discussions between any Labour Ministers and James Reilly, but said that Labour had full confidence in him.
