Taoiseach: We must achieve our targets
Taoiseach Enda Kenny said today that Irish people have to deal with the economic challenges ahead.
Enda Kenny's comments come after a report found nearly two million people here have just €100 to spend a month after paying essential bills.
Half a million have no disposable income at all, according to the Irish League of Credit Unions.
Speaking to MidWest Radio, the Taoiseach said that he would not disparage the report, but €3.5bn of budget cuts would still have to be implemented.
"It's a recommendation, very strongly in favour of Ireland, to get out of this programme, is to keep with our targets and the achieve our targets," he said.
"Now I know that these are challenging, but they've got to be dealt with. And nobody's going to deal with them but ourselves."
