A man in his 30s has been arrested after he held up a chemist in Co. Tipperary this morning.
The man entered the pharmacy on Ladyswell in Cashel at around 10.15am and threatened four staff members before holding them hostage.
It is understood he was holding an imitation firearm.
The alarm was raised, and after two hours at around 12.20pm, the man went to the door and a member of the Regional Support Unit shot him with a taser gun.
The man was subsequently arrested and taken to Cahir Garda Station.
None of the staff members were injured during the incident and it is expected the man will appear in court later today.
