Ombudsman records record-breaking year for complaints
The Office of the Ombudsman has revealed that 2011 was its busiest year ever as it received more than 3,600 complaints, according to the annual report which has been presented to the Dáil and Seanad.
An overhaul of the way Emily O'Reilly's office works meant it was able to handle 38% more complaints.
