Boxing coach jailed for rape of teenage boy

One of the country’s most successful amateur boxing coaches has been jailed for six years for grooming and raping a teenage boy he trained.

Frank Mulligan (aged 66) of Mulladuff, Smithboro, Co Monaghan is currently serving two lengthy sentences for the buggery and sexual abuse of seven other young boys over a 13-year period.
