TD McFadden to serve constituents despite Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis

The Fine Gael TD for Longford/Westmeath Nicky McFadden has said she will continue to serve her constituents despite being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last week.

In a statement this afternoon, the mother of two said she would not surrender to the disease and would continue to fight on.

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has expressed admiration for the courage with which Deputy McFadden has addressed her illness.
